Summary of the last Saturday service talk–
WHY THE CITY?
Jeremiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
1. The cities are where people are and increasingly will be.
2. The cities are the key centers of influence culturally,
spiritually, and in nearly every other
3. The city is God’s invention, part of God’s plan and purpose, and
as such should not be regarded as evil. Life in a city is our
eventual destiny—or at least our eternal destiny will revolve
around a city.
Vision 2013: Grow2Go. Grow deeper and Go farther.
“ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him (Jesus) better.” Ephesians 1:17-18
a) We grow when we read God’s Word(Bible):
b) We grow when we are involved:
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:35-38
a) Stretch Yourself
b) Go Farther
