Everything you SAY or DO says something about your CHARACTER.

Everything you do says something about your character

The way you react to a certain situation, the way you listen when someone shares something personal with you, the way you act in the need. The way you do your job, the way you speak and relate to people. People notice the character. Even the way you treat your little brother or sister or your spouse or parents.

It reminds me of my kiddo days, when we used to get coins of Rs 5, 1, 50paise, 25paise, 5paise and currency notes of different denominations. I used to cheat the other kiddos by exchanging their Rs 5 coin with three of Rs 1, 50p, and 25p. coin telling them “I give you three if you give me your 1 coin.” They would be happy to get three instead of one coin. That was not fair, isn’t it? That was wrong. I learnt it without someone teaching me to do so or training because the sin (wrongdoing/inherited sin) nature was inside of me. I had no role model.

The truth is– The first step in developing good character is to remember that everything you do – even in private – is being watched by an audience of one: GOD.

Now with this in mind:

One incident with a few of our youth group people planned for a movie when we reached the theatre, one guy was late by 15 minutes and upon his arrival, one of our friends said, “You are so irritating, look at Gyan, He never breaks the promise, comes in fact before time.” I was in shock,  they picked my name and I wondered how long these guys had been watching me. I never realized it but I thanked God who kept watching me and leading me.

Your character speaks louder than your words. That is so true!

Proverbs 11:17-21(NIV)

17 Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.

18 A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death.

20 The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

21 Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.
