Who Am I

Every day GOD thinks of you, for He made you (Ps 139:13-18).
Read: Psalm 139:13-18 The Message (MSG)
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful!
God, I’ll never comprehend them!
I couldn’t even begin to count them—
any more than I could count the sand of the sea.
Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you!
Reflect:
Many people attach their identity to their geographic location, looks, status, career and with what they have. When one doesn’t possess all it takes to have a secure identity, either they withdraw from the surroundings or try hard and be better to get it at all cost. Understanding how we came to be as a human being (Body and soul, I am marvellously made!) is not a simple event. It is complex. There is God who was involved heavily in creating me and you. All of me and you (bit by bit) from the time of conception to all the stages of our life was properly planned, closely being watched and taken care by Him. I wonder how we could forget this truth or don’t even want to believe in it or disobey God or even deny his existence. How selfish have we become! We think of us at first in our decisions but he’s constantly been thinking of us in all of His decisions. Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful! God, I’ll never comprehend them!
Even though we have chosen and walked our own ways, God thinks we are very very precious, important, valuable and worth giving up His own Son (Jesus Christ) to die on the cross for the penalty of our wrongs so that we are restored as beautiful, as good as at the time of creation. It is only in Jesus that we are freed completely and made a child of God. Galatians 3:26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Our freedom to live as a child is not by our works or efforts but Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. God accepts us not on the basis of our performance or goodness but on the performance or goodness of Jesus. Jesus did not only suffer for us but is suffering with us now through our pain and suffering. For every parent go through the pain and sufferings of their children so does God shares in our pain and suffering.
Therefore, we are a precious child of our Creator God. I am not who I say I am, I am not who others say I am, I am who God says I am. God says, “I am HIS CHILD”. That’s me & you. So, I can’t help but worship Him in adoration- what a creation! Bible says in Galatians 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a child; and if a child, then an heir through God.
Respond:
Dear God, I thank you for making me so wonderfully. Thank you for Your plans, thoughts, and concerns toward me. Forgive me for not giving due adoration and worship to you at all times. Please help me to adore, worship and give due honour to you through all I am, I have and I do for Your glory. In Jesus Name -Amen.
